Got my brakes fitted and only got one issue but its not serious.. sounds like the pad is rubbing the disc... but dont know how to fix it.. my car has been at there shop all week so i am out of time... will bring my old disc for an emergency but i have been driving them in so dont think i will need the old ones?
Tsk tsk, what did I tell you guys about modding before the trip  Pad rubbing the disc will lead to major heat buildup that could actually boil your brake fluid. Hopefully it will wear a bit and then it won't rub the disc, but there is serious danger there and you can't monitor the temperature of the brake fluid.

Hey dudes! Sorry for the confusion. Yes we still meet on the roof, MUCH easier there. Basically take the spiral ramp onto the roof parking (or from Bruma flea market, take the bridge to the east gate roof). Where those two meet is where we will park - VERY easy to find, and VERY easy to get out again. As you get to the top from the spiral ramp, turn left, and you will see us on your right. You can see it on the google map on the left at the bottom.

So, see you on the roof at 5:30am!

PS: Fill up, check your tires, oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid and water tonight. Then we won't have to stop for a few hundred km's for the first stint.

Thanks Gary! That was a great trip! :D We left pretty much on time. No traffic problems. We stopped about 250km into the journey as Vlade's petrol guage showed half tank already used  However it seems it was a false reading as it took only 17l to fill up. Then we stopped at Harrismith to fill up from half tank. I was getting over 11km per liter, Snooby about 12km per liter, and Vlade over 9. Not too bad!

For breakfast, I decided to find the tea garden my friend told me about. We made a detour at the guessed gps co-ordinates and ended on a very bad road to a private farm  But we quickly found the place. Very quaint and beautiful little tea garden. After breakfast I noticed oil all over the back of my car. Upon inpection, it seems oil is dripping out the rear crank seal. Maybe Mobile 1 is a bit too thin? :? Anyway, checked oil level, which was fine, and drove on.

We stopped next after Maritzburg at an Engen 1-stop, where Vlade's car drew a crowd of admirers, especially after some dump-valving  My oil level was down a bit so I had to top up. Then we drove on straight to Durban north beach...

I managed to park right next to the entrance gate for Freddie's and my grandstand. We bit the rest of the convoy adieu giving them rough instructions on how to find their grandstand. I knew they would battle.

Freddie and I meanwhile caught the A1 practice from start to finish, and also checked out up close some GT racers including souped up Skyline GTR R34's, Ferrari 360's and Porsche's in full GT race trim. Awesome!

Then we find out that Vlade and Snooby and gang only got to their seats after the practice! They stayed behind to watch the other races including GT races, while Freddie and I checked into our flat. Which is where we are now, chilling...

Ok, I have an oil leak that gets bad when the oil is really thin. Accepted and moving on. But dudes, the SX's made the trip pretty much flawlessly!! Big ups to these 16 something year old cars and the dudes that rebuilt/maintained them!

Glad u guys had a safe trip down. I can't wait for the breakfast run 2moro morning, it will be awesome.

I heard that the subaru club are having a breakfast run down to balito as well 2moro... It would be rather interesting if the two convoys meet somewhere along the road  They are apparently meeting at 7 as well.

Hey dudes great trip... I am I the first to say we might have surprised some of you who expected a breakdown?

It was awesome, I had some goose bump moment when I entered durban, blurring my music, checking out the view and giving Silvi some some TLC on the dash... She deserved it... getting me there and back, 1400km in total.

We headed back early yesterday, left at 7:00 was shocked to see the Durban central still a sleep, that is unheard of in JHB. Trip back was cool, Freddy leading up the passes, taking the lines, was oh so cool!

We kept to pretty much to the speed limit except for the last 200km, were we gunned it here and there on the uphills... Its got torque, bru!

Fuel economy wasn't the best but also wasn't bad... will work out today.

The trip to durban was great, doing down took long as we had plenty stops, but it was still good fun. All i can say is that durban has so many speed camera's. But the trip down was fun, fuel econ going down was around 8.8 in my car. The A1 was awsome, the sound of the back firing was all worth it.. the friday and saturday we had great seats thanks to vlade but the main event our seats were not as good but still awsome.

It was great meeting the other guys from durban. Awsome cars. Also like toby said the car's turbo spools so much faster down there, but like 2800 full boost. its awsome...

Anys the trip back was good... i filled up at the pavilion shopping centre and drove all the way home... yup one tank. stopped once for food but the sx can make it all the way home.. think the fuel on the way back was 9.6 but had the air con on all the way pritty much. one or two sections 180 km/h but lucky no speeding fines YET... Sweet oaks thanks for the great weekend.
