Hi all.
My S14's feul gauge decided in mid drift to stop working, and now show's full tank at all times, even if I swithch off the car!
And the other strage thing is that my AIR BAG light came on at the same time, so crearly there is something fishy going on there........
My ques would be that youre harness got caught some where and your gauge-wire is being shorted agains the body or metal(earthed) part. Look for parts that would move when you are doing the drift thing, seeing that uncle nissan disigned you car for driving and not drifting the abnormal movement may have caused something to touch or hook your wiring.(Yust a ques)
Hmmm, if its the airbag and the fuel guage you might need to check behind the cluster to see of there are any shorts there ase they are both quite far apart.
You can get into the fuel tank from the boot, there is a metal cover with a plastic screw cap under it, from there you get to the pump and the level sensor.
The nissan manual I had said the Airbad needs to be checked by nissan every 10 - 15 years, not sure if the car will warn you about it.

I know, I checkd the pump and the level sensor, but cant see anything wrong, and the funny thing is that the feul low warning light(aka petrol light) still works fine!
You want to hear something even stranger........ there are two plugs that go into you feultank(s14) one is for the pump, and if I disconect the other one............the airbag light goes of??????????WTF??????????????

i'm not so sure about that!!! if anyone ever asks me to change the front discs of a mazda 323/ford lazer 1300 again - i will scream and run away... that truly was the worst job i've done on a car.
as for your fuel level and airbag light... where are the airbag sensors???
are there any in the rear of the car. perhaps the wiring harness in the rear of the car is the culprit. this could also be true because the S14 comes standard with the battery in the boot right???

I think the flattery is standard at the front, and dont think the sensors would be at the back for the airbag as your head will snap backwards if you get rear ended and not forward. This is just all my guess, prove me wrong, i dare you.

Hey VeeCee.
Nope, the bat is in the engine bay, and as far as I know, the airbag sensors is in the front of the car, but dont ask me where????
I dont care mutch for the air bag, as Im going to change the steering wheel for something proper, its just the feul gauge, I still drive the car to work, so I need to know when to gooi the petrol..
