23rd February (Saturday): Durban SX Meetup!

Post by Toby »

Ok guys, let's make some plans for the meetup in Durban. We can do a couple of meets if you like, but Saturday would be easiest as it's weekend and there will only be a short A1GP qualifying. Where do we meet, and when, and how many people will be there?

I can suggest Gateway or Sibaya or Sun Coast (altho that will be tough what will all the road closures). We could even go furthur south. Maybe we could do a convoy to Wild Coast? Any takers?

As for time, the A1GP qualifying should be from about 2pm till about 3pm. So maybe we meet up about 4pm depending on location?

I am keen for anything hey, if you want to go down to the Wildcoast you cant leave at 4, its a 2 hour drive. The road going out to Ballito (M4) is a real nice 'driving road' I do it nearly every second Sunday, I go and get a packet of chips  .

What about a breakfast run on Sunday morning??

Ya, I don't mind where we meet up either. Its up to you guys that are coming down here. You would have traveled all the way to durbz, so choose a place that you would like to go, and we'l be there ;)

I'd really recommend staying away from Sun Coast tho. The roads are a nightmare around there.

I agree the road to Ballito is relatively scenic and a nice road to drive. So maybe a convoy to Ballito is a good idea.

I think an afternoon convoy to Ballito and then get a bite to eat at Hops will be cool.

Now that sounds awesome! Breakfast run on Sunday can't happen 'cos sprint race is at 11am on Sunday, and we need lots of time to get there and park and walk :) However, we could do a breakfast run on Saturday!

Scenic road to Ballito sounds cool. Oh, and it can't be up to us Joburg guys to decide where we want to go in Durbs... that's like saying you guys will decide where to go in Joburg when you come up here... pffftt crazy stuff

Oh, we can also do lunch on Sunday, 'cos the sprint race is about 20 minutes, then there's like a 3 hour break till the feature race. But it needs to be close, so I think lunch at Gateway on Sunday?

7am on the pav roof sounds good. It should be quite empty at that time in the morning.
