Oil Pressure Gauge

Post by Riekert »

Hey guys.

Can anybody show me where exactly to fit the oil pressure gauge to the CA motor. Fitted the gauge on in the cabin but don't know where to fit it to the motor.

Pics will help, Thanx.

hey rick james bitch!

uhm, just below the oil heater (haha), well its supposed to be a cooler, there is a spot to tap the oil pressure off.

i dont have any pics, but you will have to remove the original oil pressure sensor from its hole, screw in your little oil pressure sensor distribution block that you got with the gauge kit, and then screw both the oil pressure gauge sender unit and the original oil pressure switch into the oil pressure distribution block thingy!!!

also, if you do it this way, then make sure you keep your beedy eye (yes like mine!) on it. i mean just have a good look at it from time to time. you'll be looking for cracks in the threaded part that goes into the CA block.

i say this because the weight of the bulky oil pressure sender, plus the distribution block, plus the original oil pressure switch, tend to make those little brass fittings break off.

when this happens you will not have a fun time trying to get a drill in that engine bay to drill out the hole, let alone tap it for thread, and then try to remove all the shavings out of the hole, so that they dont find their way to the bearings and things - the evil little bastards!!!

i have another idea for connecting the distribution block with a braided hose, so that the weight bearing contraption doesnt hang off the block like that - but i've yet to implement it!!!

does that cover it?
