29th September 2007 - rAge expo

Not a formal 200SX event, but a few of us have shown interest in going to the rAge expo at the Dome, so we might as well meet up and drive together. For those not in the know, rAge is all about computers, games, tech and also a bit of anime/manga thrown in. Expect lots of 13-year olds playing LAN games, some booth babes for the kids to drool at, and 30-year olds watching and wishing they had a league for adults :)

Here's the proposed plan:

- Meet up at Cafe Fino in San Ridge Mall in Midrand for a late breakfast at 10am. Directions: from Pretoria, take N1 south, New Road off ramp -> Right into New Road -> 3rd robot right into Lever, next left into San Ridge mall.
- After breakfast, we drive through to The Dome and have fun.
- Remember to take a camera to take pics of the booth babes :-)

We can also exchange DVD's of games/Initial-D/Top Gear/etc. (yes, Nuren, you can bring my DVD's back now :) ) Make requests beforehand so we can arrange Vlade's CarPC or a laptop, etc. Vote on the poll - let's see how many want to join. Entrance is R40 per person, Kids under 5 free (why would you want a 4 year old kid for free?? :? )

So what, am I the only geeky guy here? No-one else interested? Don't forget, the kids are gonna love the SX, they've seen it in Need For Speed.

Thanks to the guys that joined in - it was great! Just 3 of us from the SX club - me, Jon, and Ero_Sennin. This year's rAge was fantastic, with so much to see and do. The Wii stand was one of the best looking stands there. There were lots of "get the best lap time and win" type competitions, as well as screenings of Anime movies, lots of playable games, LAN games, amazing looking customised PC's, cellphone watch stand, and EA had a huge setup including a 4D theatre (which I sadly didn't get a chance to watch). Sadly, a lack of booth babes (altho there were a few), and no freebie magazines (stingy NAG mag!).

Will definately be there for the next one!

that has been out for like a year, only for consoles.
