What parts of the sx should factory of done different??
Personally the things I dislike are...
1. Power, the sx seriously needed more somewhere about 150RwKw would of been good.
2. Handling, the sx was and is great for going sideways but around a track not so good. Strut braces, poly bushes and adjustable dampers really help.
3. Interior, seats should of been more sporty, besides that the interior is fantastic.
4. Sunroof, it should of been electric or at least stay up instead of always falling down.
5. Electric windows, they clank when you close them.
Personally the things I like are...
1. Styling, the sx looks great even for its age it looks good.
2. Driftability, man this car handles fantastic when sideways.
3. CA18DET, this motor is fantastic if looked after correctly. People who change for the SR20DET are just silly. Yes I know spares are more readily avalible but who cares, its the joys of driving a "classic".
4. Interior, the interior is great, besides the seats. Everything is so easily accessable and comfortable to reach, great driving position and good view of road and clocks.
I think I have most of them there, will add more if I think of them.
What you guys thinks??
Re-engineering the sx

My list:
- popup headlights should've been like the RX-7's - more rectangular than square
- needles in the instrument cluster should have been red or orange
- styling - if the rear wheel arches were flared slightly, that would improve the appearance and make it look more sporty. Would've also liked the wheel arches to be more round so that the wheel looks like it fits nicely. Otherwise, it's perfect!
- short shifting gearbox would've been nice, but std one is good.
- agree with electric sunroof, altho that would add weight
- should've come with a boost guage and oil temp guage as standard
- should've come with electric fans as std
- should've had a double exhaust with 2 silencers
- front suspension should've been stiffer - lifts up way too much on cornering
- should've had 300ZX brakes as std

Red 200SX S13, 1992, stock. Engine rebuilt (click).
I agree with you but we need to remember something, our cars was reliesed between 91-93 this means it was desighned in the late 80's, compare appels with appels, what other car coming out then with the same setup could hold candle to an sx, for roughly 120 kw on the engin, in 91-93 this was a very formitable power against other cars in the same category.
Now these are the things I intend to change on mine.
I really want to make this car FANTASTIC to drive, it must be as comfortable as a new car, so I cant keep my ass out the seat.
Anyone improved any of these things, if so how??
I am currently working on the power and drivability side of. Going to be putting WOLF3D on soon as well as a bigger cooler. With the wolf I will be able to tune exactly how I want the car to drive.
Handling is not so bad because of the koni dampers and my strut braces work wonders to limit the flex.
Next I want to stop all the squeaks and rattles.
Was thinking of the interior, and the center consol would look so flipping good if it were carbon fibre.

There is very little I hate about these cars but I would definitely aggree that the suspension needs alot of work. It's a damn sports car so I would think a damn Sport suspension would be ideal. The front is way too soft causing the car to dip heavy in turns. Too much body roll.
They could have improved on the LSD. When sliding these cars you never know when it's gonna grip and throw you the other way.
Ps:The seats are not that comfortable. It could have been better.

The only thing better than going FAST,
Is Going FAST SIDEWAYS.
Is Going FAST SIDEWAYS.
Here's how I see it.
Take an M3 for eg (yes, yuck, I know)
Give it to a hardcore beemer fan and he'll also be able to come up with 10+ improvements that he thinks they should have done from the factory.
I like to see it as the car is stock.
If you want it better, do it yourself or become a car designer for nissan...
Yes, the cars have flaws, yes they could have done it differently, the joy of owning it is making the car YOU want.
P.S. Twin tailpipes are for V's ( V6, V8 )... period. It has no place on an inline....
