Re: S14 SR20DET notch top
Water pipe popped off on the highway yesterday and it seems like it overheated cause I could see water on the piston....
Im hoping that some new bolts, a skim and a new gasket would fix it.

S14 SR20DET notch top
Damm thats a crap one bud, just check last time my notch top over heated the water jacket slots warped and required a heavy skim so much so that the piston would touch the head so i just got second hand block hope its not that bad.
My LuGnuts have more torque than your honda.

Re: S14 SR20DET notch top
Thanks i will check.
I do not think it is that bad because it did not get much heat, i think the bolts might have needed a re-torque after the engine was redone and i did not know about it. I have been struggling with a starting issue for the last couple of weeks and now seeing the water I think that the head lifts under normal working temps and causes the leak onto the piston. Thats why i would rather just replace the gasket and bolts and give the head a skim.
