So i got my hands on a CA18DE RWD motor for dirt cheap. Was planning on using it to make a daily drive SX as it does 101kw stock and should get decent fuel comsumption.
Mate bought a sx and the motor was finished. So put the CA18DE in for him. In AUS and NZ the CA18DE+T conversion is really popular and get good feed back with the high comp for off boost driving.
Mods are
T25G running at 0.6bar
76mm exhaust
Small FMIC
Stock CA18DET ecu and injectors
CA18DE intake cam
This has turned out really nice. Lots more power between 2000-4000rpm and the turbo gets 0.6 at 2200rpm. 9kms a liter with town driving if you drive nice. Havnt done any highway driving. It can light up 225 tyres on a hard launch.
I always found the CA18DET a dog to drive off boost but this is great for a daily. I wouldnt turn up the boost more then 0.6 and have dropped the timing to 13/14 degs. I am sure with a management this would be even better just to fine tune it abit, so looking at nistune in the future.

Re: CA18DE+T
Very nice! Did you put oil squirters in?

Re: CA18DE+T
My forged build is 9:1 and I also found it more drivable off boost.
