Project R31 Skyline
So, since theres now a Skyline section, I thought I'd share my toy and be the first to post a project!
It's a 1992 R31 3.0SGLi, mostly original (body and interior wise) with some changes under the skin. Some of the avid Petrolhead followers on Ignition TV would've seen it on the show earlier this year.
Doing my best to do this one properly, keep it looking as original as possible (except the wheels) and make the changes subtle and proper. 90% of the parts in the car and all the technical support to do the build was supplied by Rezlo Racing.
Current spec list:

Ichiba Type-I 10mm front spacers
Extended front wheel studs
Gauges:
Custom 2-gauge A-pillar gauge pod

Auto Gauge Smoked boost gauge 2"
Custom 2-gauge steering column cover gauge pod

Outside:
Light grey window tint

There's still some things to come on this build - as soon as I can sort out a very unique and irritating propshaft vibration problem...

Re: Project R31 Skyline
Some small updates - installed a Mishimoto radiator from a R33 Skyline along with Autobahn 88 silicon radiator hoses.
Also got my hands on a set of Z32 calipers and Z33 Stoptech slotted discs that I'm busy installing.
Spec list in the first post updated.

Re: Project R31 Skyline
Raaito, so after struggling a bit to get the rev counter to work, I pretended that the Skyline is a dyno queen and took it for a run.
Current state:
Stock unopened RB25DET Series 2
Stock injectors and management, stock boost (0.5-0.6 bar)
600x300x76 front mount intercooler
Greddy RZ blow-off valve
AB88 split dump pipe, 76mm exhaust with 2x Magnaflow silencers
First run the operator stops the run at 6000rpm... Told him to go to 7000rpm for the next one but he then only went to 6500rpm (probably thought I'm mad as the stock rev counter starts redlining at 5500rpm )
Anyways, the way the dyno was setup (inputs are ambient temp, barometric pressure and humidity) the correction factor for the run was 22% which gave a ridiculously optimistic 237kW result! So I took the data from our towns weather station and an online correction factor calculator that spit out an answer of pretty much 0% correction.
Anyway, got an actual 194kW @ 6500rpm and 302Nm @ 5500rpm on the flywheel which is roughly what I expected. Stock RB25DET quoted figures are 184kw @ 6400 and 294Nm @ 4800.

Was the intake cut and re-welded to move the throttle body? Looks super neat really nicely done!

Yup, and then lots and lots of grinding and sanding to get it smooth before powder coatingtroopiec wrote:Was the intake cut and re-welded to move the throttle body? Looks super neat really nicely done!

Re: Project R31 Skyline
Quite a bit has changed here over the course of December and January...
It's now running on Link G4 Xtreme management, has 1000cc Deatschwerks injectors and a different turbo and wastegate setup.
Goes alright for a heavy family barge
