What Iridiums for RB25?
Hi guys,
I have a RB25 with GT35R turbo. I'm getting a bad misfire when coming onto boost. It seems like it's spark related. I want to eliminate the spark plugs so I want to get a set of Iridiums.
What are the best to run with an RB and where can I get some?
Thanks,
Ryan

Dude I would stick with the coppers. Iridiums foul very easy and if you are still running the dictator with its batch firing with your 750cc you will be fouling your plugs on idle and cruzing. Bcpr7es gapped to 0.8 will work for high boost well. I ran 1.2 bar on my old setup. Under 1 bar run 6's

Re: What Iridiums for RB25?
Hey man,
I've run both BCPR6's and BCPR7's same issue. I think it might be blowing out the spark. Changing for brand new coppers doesn't make the problem go away. I've also swapped out each coil in turn and no dice. Not sure what else it could be...

Have you tried making the plug gap smaller?

Re: What Iridiums for RB25?
I've gapped the plugs to .8 and it made no difference.
With the coils I previously got a few new ones from rat and I've tried swapping out my coils in a number of different combinations and still no change.
Rat, I'm not sure what the dwell time is, I'l have to check the 'tator, but what should it be at?

Re: What Iridiums for RB25?
Stock is just under 2ms but dont think that works on the tator. Iirc I was running 4ms at first but that killed my coils. 2.5 -3ms is what I settled at after a visit from barry

try this. RB26 and RB25 S1 are the same coils
To everyone else this works with the CA coils as well.

Re: What Iridiums for RB25?
Does the standard coil have a resistor in the suppressor that clips onto the plug underneath the coil ?
If so, run a non resistor plug. ie: Bcp6es or similar.
The R denotes a resistor plug and you shouldn't run two resistive items in series.
If it does not I have just wasted a few minutes of my life on drivel..
