remember to make sure that your head AND block is PERFECTLY flat , otherwise your multi layer stainless steel headgasket is gonna make you cry..

This is correct....this is very correct. spray some copper gasket sealer on both sides of your metal head gasket before putting it on and there is a lot less chance of a leak.

Thats what I did last time, I think my arp head studs was to long so it could not be tightened proparly.
