Stock rb25 turbo on sr20det
Hey guys had a t3/t4 turbo on my car and its sucks big time do not like the lag, i had a T28r on my car before the t3/t4 and man i enjoyed that turbo spooled up really quik and fun to drive as my car is an every day car and with the t3 the turbo spools to late, i managed to get a good condition stock rb25 and noticed it a t28 with a t3 exhaust flange, i have a top mount manifold so it bolts right on but would like to know if the turbo will boost late? And what rpm would the turbo start boosting as its only going to run on 4 cylinders as aposed to 6 cylinders.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Stock rb25 turbo on sr20det
I was planning to use one on my CA, but broke the ceremic shaft in whiles strugling to get the turbine housing off(be very carefull). I believe it would have worked well on the CA so it should spool very quick on a SR and i would definately try it.

@Daniel
hahaha
on a more serious note, my rb25 with the std turbo felt like little to no lag, seems like from about 2250rpm and you were away mabe less
i want 1 for my CA, or Sr if that happens...
good cost effective upgrade for ca/sr i think, will have nice response
only downside as rat stated is no boosting over 0.9bar, ceramic turbine..

I dont know so much about that one hey, i still think it needs cool down time to prevent the oil from cokeing inside the turbo after a heavy run, i would not chance it.SonOfAnarchy ZA wrote:heard you don't need a cool down period either

T3/T4 with .48 exh housing spools up faster. See dyno print on SR20. This was the same car, same turbo, just different exh housings. T3 .48 and T3 .63.

Re: Stock rb25 turbo on sr20det
i run a garret t3/t4 with 0.48 housing on sr20det full boost 1 bar at 3000rpm
great response
i think you just got any t3t4 turbo without matching it correctly
