Its dead. The turbo seals were gone so I replaced the turbo then did the engine up but still not running properly.
Plus one injector is leaking. Spend 15k on it and its gona a year and a half and I still haven't used the car.

Just want to pull out that engine and stick another one in it

Well I'm sure its just the luck of the draw, but when I got a jap CA engine to use it was the most painless experience ever! it was really fantastic, it smoked for the first 50km but was perfect after that. I have no regrets whatsoever and would get another jap import engine if I felt so inclined. I really miss that engine, lost it after my radiator gave up though so did a rebuild.

Rather sounds like something is wrong with it, if it is really as lazy as you describe it sounds like the cam timing could be out or the mapping. Do you have a Dyno sheet just to compare the power output?

Most guys on the forum has done mods to the ca18dets, so it would be easy to compare the "expected" power you should put down. In any case, you only have a T28!!!! Dont expect T3/4 power from that small turbos, doesnt matter which motor you have. (Unless its 2 of the units fitted on something like the Rb26)
