something is not right

Post by SonOfAnarchy ZA »

need some sx expertise. my ca18det was running fine the exhaust cam was a tooth out but still running fine so i just finished redoing the timing and with a timing light it lines up to the second mark on the crank pulley but the car doesn't want to rev and if you try it backfires a bit but sounds like its really struggling. Any ideas

The 2nd mark is TDC, you need to be on 15deg BTDC which is the 2nd last mark on the right.

Your cam belt has to line up with the marks on the gears or your CAS reading will be out.

Bcpr6es if running under 1bar set to 0.8. Works very well. Stock gap is 1.1 put old coils don't like big gap.

I ran BCPR7es gapped 0.8 - 0.9 at 1bar for ages, I would change them every 10k km, with no spark plug issues.
