People just please think for yourselves stop being lazy and believing everything you hear, Phone around, do the research, contact the people, Buy the books get your hands dirty and then when your informed make your choice.
Oh man...brilliant. I like this. Can only agree with this. Make an informed decision. But we all bloody so differ!! But you wont get wisdom for free. You need to pay for that. Wisdom and Internet not the same hay???
To much information and you are like a lady in front of her cubert(cubbert,cubbord- speling checker!) and she cant decide on which dress to pick

Well maby you can post a new thread with all the flow maps of potentially usefull turbo's for the CA18DET? perhaps with tips, for numpty's like me, on how to actually read one.
Spinx u say no one must believe what they read so why should we believe you? Seems a bit 2 faced
Please all of you including the experts must take some things into ac count when looking at compressor maps.
1: Altitude plays a huge role so make the correct calculations I have software on my website for doing just that.
2: They are only a guideline none of them include shaft speed so they are not very accurate.
yip, nothing new to me. Lot of things have a affect on it, same with dynos, weather, temp etc. change it, but it's not going to make like a 50% change. Most maps are formed at sealevel so it can only get worse at higher altitude.
Most maps I get has got shaft speed, and other info, not having it is like a dyno graph with just HP and TQ lines on it.

Thank you , People are thinking now.
You Shouldn't believe me but the same apples to you.
No one on any forum in the world is right all the time, But it seems some people think they always are.
There is a bunch of knowledge in the forums just please think for yourself and research
My opinion is that Turbo is incorrectly sized for the application, If Gary likes it then fine. My set-up gets criticized all the time, But to modify a Wast-gate means there is an issue and the "expert" you are should have maybe said something because now the housing is more likly to start craking if anything.

Ja true I probably should of run an external wastegate but to much money and I didnt have a tubular manifold at that time. I modified it and it works great, to me I have the best running sx in the whole world . I am as happy as a pig in shit with and just wish you guy could feel what you are missing out on and to me thats all that matters.

I have given up telling people their setup is wrong because of the issues it causes particularly with "gentlemen" like you. He is the one sitting in the car watching what happens and he seems happy with it so why tell him he is a dick and wrong?
I can see that you are of the generation that doesnt understand consequences. I strongly suggest that you lay off the personal remarks or you will be feeling some consequences.
In plain english leave me alone before I fuck you up.
If someone gives good and accurate advice, then no-one can argue about it, because the ones that argue can always be proven wrong, but give the wrong advice and you'll look like prick when someone else prove you wrong.
And some stick to "no advice for free", which is good, if the advice is correct.
I only advise if I am correct, Im very seldom wrong. I think I will take up the No advice is free advice aditude. I am getting kinda tired of people telling my car cant do this or doesnt do that, when for 1 they have never seen it and 2 I drive the bladdy thing everyday so surely I know how it goes?!
