Ok so everyone is buying adjustable suspension arms and I wonder how many guys are actually adjusting anything and also knows how their adjustments affect the car's handling...
Here is a basic setup guide to start with - compliments of the good people at Whiteline. - Stickey Mr Riekert if you please.
Settings for S14/S15 application...
Touring/Street:
Front:
Camber: -1.0 to -1.5 Castor : P+7.5 / D+7.0 Toe: 0.0
Rear:
Camber: -1.0 to -1.25 Castor: n/a Toe: 0.8 to 1.2 toe-in
Sport/Trackday:
Front:
Camber: -1.5 to -2.0 Castor: P+7.5 / D+7.0 Toe: 0.0
Rear:
Camber: -1.25 to -2.0 Castor: n/a Toe: 0.5 to 1.2 toe-in
Race(Racing purposes only):
Front:
Camber: -2.5 or more Castor: P+7.5 / D+7.0 Toe: 0.0 to 1.0 toe-out
Rear:
Camber: -2.0 or more Castor: n/a Toe: 0.5 to 1.5 toe-in
The settings are not set in concrete. Obviously you can adjust as you see fit or what suits your driving style etc. These are guidelines like you say and a good place to start - Tried tested and proven over and over. Whiteline has been testing these settings over years of development of their products.
Concerning the Race setup castor - these are also based on a car probably driven to events and surely can be set to whatever your need is. Especially if you have all the adjustable arms etc.
