Rwd engine the same as Fwd?

Post by oki »

Hi there everyone, I have just collected my SR motor for my Lotus 7. It is a RWD motor (S14- variable intake cam) I have tried to search but came up empty-handed - can I use the local gasket sets, timing sets that I see from time to time on Bid or Buy? Any help will be appreciated.

you will need to get s14 gasket set

only some gaskets will fit from s13sr20det/n14sr20de

most of the gaskets fit except the head gasket which I recommend you use a cometic anyway (even if it is a non turbo) on NA motors the victorheinz gasket set has most of the stuff but on the turbo the exhaust gasket is a layered metal item. Just buy a cometic gasket set for it. It is R3000+/- and well worth it. Can get one from rezlo, importparts etc etc... will need to be shipped in and some waiting will be required...
