TNT 76mm pipe, steering wheel hub and boost pipes?

Post by Twakkie »

Good day all, i have bought a 200SX with 75 000 km on it and am thinking on changing some things. i was at TNT the other day for a quote on a 76mm full exhaust system with one box and lucky enough they were busy with a 76mm system on a 200SX so i went and had a look at it and now im hesitant :? coz im using the car daily and that look loud!!! had any one done a 76mm at TNT? How loud is it and is it possible to have 2 boxes fitted (will it ruin it?)

also i want to fit a front mounted inter-cooler what would the best sizes be for the boost pipes? i am boosting standard still (what ever standard is i think its 0.5 isnt it?)

is there maybe a tuner or a guy in the Pretoria area that knows 200sx's that can do work on it and give advice?

one last thing, i have a nice sparco steering wheel that i want to fit, where can i get a hub for it? or is there another model how's hub will fit if the SX's are hard to come by?

Thank!!

S13 with only 75k kms? Sounds almost too good to be true, nice find if it's in good condition.

1) 3" exhaust with one box is stupendously loud - a DEFINITE no for a daily, you'll need 2 boxes at least.

2) Do the work yourself

3) Get a Sparco hub - they make one for the S13. There is one for sale in the classifieds section.

If your looking for someone to work on your S13 you can phone John on 082 769 3579. Nice and decent guys, and awesome on the Nissans, Nissan used to send the cars they couldnt fix to his dad including the 200sx's. (One even came all the way from PE!)

They had a CA18det powered datsun which did a 248km.h over the 800m....So they definitely the right guys to talk to! haha

Nice buy! Sure you will njoy the car allot!

Shot guys. ja i bought the car about a month ago, out of the east cape with 71 000km on it from a old tannie (obviously). the car is still stock standard. i was hoping it was a bit stronger, i had a vtec for about 2years.

does any one know exactly what the ca18det boosts standard?

I fitted the Sr20det turbo to my car, and it only boosted 0.3!!! Im not sure on the boost of a stock CA18 but it should be around there as well. Im also still running stock ECU.

You can buy a nice T28 (keep the turbo on the small side to keep the low rev boost but it would see a nice increase in power) for around R7500 for a Garette or R3000 for an alcheapo. But you might want to make sure your fuel pump is still working 100%, if not rather buy something like the Walbro which is a drop in.

With the stock management i dont believe youd be able to boost too much before running on the lean side so make sure the car is properly setup if you fit the bigger T28 and check the co's

awesome stuff, i assume the T28 then isn't a ball-bearing for that price?

but if you were to boost higher cant you "chip" it so that is doesn't run lean? coz i heard the standard turbo is good for about 1.0bar? so why go T28?
