CA18DET Performance upgrade
Hi Guyz, my SX is still stock and i'm thinking of upgrading a little bit and seeking your'll expert advise. Except for a 63mm exhaust system, what would you guys recommend as a starter? I'm not looking to build the car as a drag car, but something thats fun to drive especially in town. I find that there is quite a bit of turbo-lag and not much fun in town. I have no complaints on the highway, it goes quite well. Would a turbo upgrade as a start be advisable? If yes, what turbo is recommended and would it be direct bolt-on? At this point I don't want to fit any aftermarket managment etc and would prefer the std AirFlow setup. Looking forward to any valuable input. Thanks in advance guys for your kind input

Re: CA18DET Performance upgrade
Stage 2 setup:
76mm exhaust
GT28RS turbo 0.8bar
Filter
Intercooler
These mods will run on a stock ECU
CA18DET doesnt make power below 4000rpm.
Remember to service the car.

Re: CA18DET Performance upgrade
Thanks guyz, your input is highly appreciated. Out of curiousity, how much boost can the std turbo tolerate, and is it possible to increase the boost on the std turbo?

CA18DET Performance upgrade
Need a boost controller. Manual or electronic. Stock is at 0.7 I wouldn't raise it past 0.8.

as a starter do your filter and exhaust and keep it there if your pocket is not deep enough!
