2JZ GTE VVTi into E46

Post by Corne330 »

Hi guys.
I'm looking to install the 2JZ GTE VVTi engine into my E46 BMW.
Schalk from Skhalk's Conversions said he can do it for about 50K.
Are there anyone here who knows someone who has actually done this conversion in SA?
The car is an 2003 330i with the six speed gearbox.

Thanks..

read that other thread. I dont think 50k will cover much of the conversion.

I think you mad to mess with a 330, rather sell it buy a sx and do a 2jz swop into that!

Skip the JZ, turbo charge that 330i and you will have a seriously fast BMW!

Also had kak service there with a 3sgte.
Well it was my buds car but I was there during the build stage. Kak service at his own time and you will be dealing with him through his tea lady once your car is there.

your management is going to be a proper mish mash.. remember this is a bmw, not an sx, all your control modules is coded to each other for anti theft.. so either the new engine management will have to be piggybacked on top of all the other ecu's, leaving the beemer ecu in place, or else no central locking, imobilizer ect... this conversion is not worth it imho..

Hannes that works on my car has done a couple conversions including mine. He does the best work.
Even he's own R33.

I agree with BK!!!
He will never be able to do it for that price.
Let me know and I will send you he's details and you can go and have a look at he's work. He does not bs about anything

There's a guy here in bloem with the 2jz motor in a BMW looks weird hearing a Jap car then along comes a BMW haha, but he has had countless trouble with the car and it cost him a lot as well. My opinion id spend that money on the 330 motor and make it FASTER....

I am a big bm fan, have been driving them since I was 16. But if you not worried about having a jap motor in your bm, the 2j is a great motor.
I have a chipped 335i and my Silvia with 2j drives circles around it.
And it is reliable
