Dash clock resets itself everytime you open a door???

Post by Yakuza »

Hey people..
Got this nasty problem, car has a alarm system connected to everything that can be opened. So the issue is that once you open a door or the hood the clock resets itself on 1;00..
So the first thing I think its got something to do with either the alarm or ignition..Did any1 else have this problem?? WHats the cure??

Dude, since it happening with hood and doors, I would be inclined to thing that your door indicator switches have a short somhow with the clock power, both door switches and lock power run through the harness behind the cluster, I would check that if you clip the door switch indicator lines from the harnes, does it still do the same thing? You should be able to release the indicator pins from the harness plugs withought damaging the wires them selves....

If u need a wiring diagram for the pinout of the harness, u can check in my project build, I have drawn one up and posted in there

Hope this helps..... U might just need to replace a wire and sorted....

Had the same problem - does the interior light work as well. I took mine to an electrician and he just a changed a fuse in the fusebox. The interior light fuse. Try also switching the interior light on and off. My radio also didn't work because it was connected to the ignition
