Hey guys I am new to the forum. I tried just about everything. I drive a 200sx S13 (ca18det). Problem is I am running rich. Even on idle. The gasses burn my eyes. I get 5km per liter and I drive like a granny.
The car Is very stock only exhaust fitted no dump valve. I have checked everything, all signal outputs, connectors, wires, plugs, boost leaks, no error codes (55) sensors, new spark plugs, coil packs the list goes
on and on.... Timing is 100% I feel like burning it to the ground!!! The engine is in very very good condition inside out.. Please Help!!!!

start by checking your maf sensor.

shup.

Get the basics right. Check fuel pressure, etc.
Once you sure the basics are correct, start delving into the components around the ecu.
Ecu only does what satellite sensors tell it to do.

Running that rich ? Fuel pressure and then maf, coolant sensor. Air sensor will not have such a dramatic influence on it.

Fuel pressure has been checked. All good. Maf works fine, unplugged it during idle and then it sounds like shit and I cant get it above 3000rpms.... Coolent sensor also works fines. Had the multimeter hooked up.

The car drives very well.. I will have a backfire now and then after I shift at 3500rpms

What range of resistance do you get from the engine coolant temp sensor? and just to make sure you know there is 2 different temp sensors? the one for you gauge and one for your ecu the important one is the one for your ecu its got 2 pins

Your MAF sensor might work fine but if it's dirty(the "electrode" measuring air mass) causing the sensor to send richer values to the ecu,a good clean with carb cleaner will sort that but it's very delicate so be careful, something that I have heard over the years(might be bs) is your gear sensor on the gearbox not able to sence the right gear and therefore influensing fuelling...don't know

Engine coolant temp sensor (main one with two pins on plug) is between 1.0v and 5.0v depending on temperature. Maf is clean and working 1.6v an 2.2v varies on revolution. Coolant temp sensor resistance at approx 2.5ohm when cold and 0.3ohm when normal temp which is normal.

check all boost pipes and underneath your SMIC.

The SMIC might have a hole.

Cape Town.... Checked for boost leaks... Nothing at all..

Might be your airflow sensor or fuel pump which may be faulty. I have 2 airflow sensors, check the fuel pressure, should you find that not to be the problem maybe get a airflow sensor from me, if you need one ill sell it to you for R250 (they definitely work) I fitted a dictator and tested both on my car before removing them.
