ca18det low oil pressure

Hi just want to find out if anyone knows what the problem could be...
i've rebuild my ca18det engine completely and almost everything is new that includes the oil pump, new bearings, rings, pistons, waterpump etc.. but i have a problem with the oil pressure. if the car is on idle its on 1 bar and if u rev it to 3000 rpm the head starts making a noise, sounds like the lifters.. must be oil starvation ? not sure what to look at first since its a new oil pump. only thing i can maybe think of is the oil pickup. any advice please.

It needs to be around 3 bar when revving to 3000rpm, have you taken the pressure when revving to 3000rpm? 1bar is normal for idle, your lifters could just be frot or not "prepaired" right to function.
I always had noisy lifters, I put in mobil 1 oil and my lifters went quiet about 10 seconds after start, not saying thats the cure, that did it for me.

Did you rebuild/check the lifters and bleed them before you installed them?
There is a link under the tech stickies I posted a long time ago, check it out.

Nope, tested it now again - works fine. Perhaps your webfilter blocks it.

nah its almost 2 bar on 2500rpm so around 3000rpm it starts making noise so dont wanna push it that high. i can see the cams been lubricated by the oil if i open the oil cap so that looks ok. just the oil pressure and then the noise...

Did you replace the oil pickup gasket? Did you check the pressure relief valve of the pump before you installed it?
According to the FSM is should be over 0.78 bar @ idle, and 3.53-4.12 bar @ 3000 rpm.

between the oil pump and pickup is only a O ring and no i didnt replace it. it still looked good. and no i didnt check the pressure relief valve on the pump.
