What an awesome day ! Nissan`s gelore, Volvo, Supra and a myriad of other makes there..Loved my car around the track, she was solid and very predictable. I conquered my fear of turn four today and found some new times there. My brakes were so so, need to work on them some more. This little RB25 NEO is a jewel !
Hey, let me tell you blokes, Grant`s little cars goes like stink !! Well done Grant, serious nice build there bud..

Was an awesome day, I landed up with overheating issues, seems that one of the pipes for the heater has a tiny little hole in it. Never use the heater so those will be removed.
I have lots to learn but 1st trackday done, now to get used to the track and start overtaking, I tended to just follow whoever was in front of me was still awesome
Grant I think Barry and myself will be seeing a lot more of that track

What times did you guys run?
DriftZ: "I swear if a CA18 beats my SR im getting a RB!"
Re: zwartkops 9December
Really not anything spectacular at all. I have not been on a track in probably 18months and this was with a "new" car to me..Gary57 wrote:What times did you guys run?
She went well, brakes still need work, handling is good, can always be improved and street tires just dont last lap after lap..
We had over 40 cars in our group, divided into two sub groups so the track was also pretty congested..
My only timed lap was behind a 328 BMW and that was 1.27...could not get past him as there were 4 cars bumper to bumper ahead of him..that all slows the procession down..
Give you an idea, I had a Cosworth Merc 2.3 16V turbo race car shod with 15 " slick on my tail. Straights I would pull well away, cnrs he would close up big time.
Next time I fit the semi`s ..and better brakes !!
Oh, and Go-pro vid up shortly !

But you have mega brakes on your S14 though Barry? Makes me concerned about my poverty spec setup then.

Re: zwartkops 9December
was doing 1:20, next time out more camber, hi boost, better brake pads and no passengers I hope to hit 1:17 or less
Re: zwartkops 9December
Dan, the brakes were ok..My little Alfa had smaller brakes than the Nissan, probably weighed a little less but I could jump on the brakes at the 50 meter marker from crazy speeds and she would simply pull up hard and get through. The Nissan I`m trail braking well before the 100 meter marker as I could just not trust that I would lose speed in time. Thats no good and kills time as well.Daniel wrote:But you have mega brakes on your S14 though Barry? Makes me concerned about my poverty spec setup then.
One of the reasons I could not confidently pull of a pass
I need to get the Nissan like my Alfa was..At the moment though the rears are still std. S14.Everything is now being done by the fronts only. Rears are extremely important in getting brake balance right.
I also have my doubts as to the Vari brakes I have on my car. I am not that impressed, reminds me of those Praggia calipers you used to get here.
I may simply get in a set of A.P. Brakes front and rear and call it quits.
I really need to go out on slicks next time as well. And I need to fit my race seat ! I was all over the seats around corners !
A good day but glaringly showing up shortcomings in the car and myself as the driver..

Pitty I missed this, I had to work but I was there the week before hand and I put the GTR on the track. What a great experience BUT there is alot to learn and and even more work needed to be done to the car!
