Has any one ever fitted a TD04 on a CA? would that be a good idea? i hear they are good turbos and not badly priced.

I have a TD04HL-16T on mine.

It requires custom manifold, turbo elbow, oil lines, water lines, intake pipe, outlet pipe.

Garrett parts are more freely available.

If I had a choice I would go Garrett (OEM S15 GT28R or GT28RS).

My friend has a td04 on his almera QG15DE conversion, making decent power of 140kw at 0.9bar bt I wouldn't waste my time and effort putting it on CA18det. Go Garrett T28 one time
