CA18DET turbos?

Im still looking for a turbo upgrade for my CA18DET, i was going to go Garrett T28 journal bearing off S14 but im really struggling to find a T28 in decent condition that i can afford, people asking R2000+ for a T28 that has play and is smoking, theres no point because to recon a T28 properly ive had quotes of R2500+, i cant afford that atall. So i was hearing about the replica turbos, the WR280, WR330, WR380 etc etc, and that sounds quite worth it for R3000 for a brand new turbo with warantee.
Ive seen on the forum some of the guys has had experience with these turbos, How long do they last? and which one should i buy for my CA18DET as my motor is stock, i have following mods:
walbro turbo feul pump
76mm exhaust straight through
cone filter
RB25 feul pressure regulator
boost cut removeal
still have stock management and wont be changing anytime soon, just plan on turbo and FMIC. But i hear these replica turbos boost high at 0.8, can you reduce it to like 0.6 with a boost controller? I dont want to burn my pistons, also i dont want my boost to kick in too late. Any ideas?? its such a hard decision, if i had the cash i would ofcourse go GT28 ball bearing but thatl never happen, im an apprentice and my pay doesnt allow that.
