hi Guys. i have a question regarding a external on the sx. whats the good and bad of it? does it shorten the life of the turbo??? please assist me

A dumpvalve helps protect your turbo, it prolongs its life....

a external? do you not mean a wastegate. you internal and external wastegates, and atmospheric and recirculating dumpvalves, but i haven't heard of an external dumpvalve, they're all external!

but draco is right - dumpvalves can help to extend the life of the turbo.
