Hey guys, iv done a bit of reading and noticed that one of the flaws on a sr20s is the cam oil squirter that sits right above the cams.
Now i got a set of cam oil squirters from the black top(notch top) sr20det and the red top(straight top) sr20det both next to each other and noticed that the black top sr20det cam oil squirters holes on the rail are realy small but the supply hole of the squirter is large, now the red tops cam oil squirter holes on the rail is much bigger and the supply oil hole is realy small so my 10cent Question is what is better? Wich one wont clog up as quik and in terms of oil pressure wich one would supply a consistant amount of oil?

Top oil feed is the blacktop sr20det.
Bottom oil feed is red top sr20det.

I have had one or two holes seem to clog up a bit on mine, mine looks like the top one, and I have a Redtop SR
The bottom one looks new? Is that not perhaps a newer revision?

Simple, keep it with the motor is came on.
You need to cut it open, clean it out and then weld/solder it closed again.

Nope not new at all, the bottom one is from a import red top sr20det, read up that nissan had a flaw in the oil squirters and corrected it but dont understand because the black top sr is a newer model engine than the red top an you said yours has the small holes and you have the red top.

just cut the ends open clean them very well, weld or silver solder back and you will be ok with the one's that come out the engine

I have used both and currently run the bigger hole ones. had to since I lost a set of cams due to blocking. even with the big ones I cut open on the very end and cleaned with benzine and copper pipe cleaners and rinsed with pressured parafin before closing them up again. Only way to really be sure.

besides there is enough oil feed and pressure for them small differences to make a difference in terms of oil supply or pressure for the rest of the stuff.

There we go proof is in the pudding, ok cool so the bigger one it is, I normally cleaned my oil squirting rails with a syringe and the smallest needle i could find at the pharmacy an smiply just suck up alot of engine cleaner and push it right inside the hole an squirt it all out, I start from the top hole and work my way down lol oh dear this sounds a bit weird

If it is for a set then its good, for one that then is a rip off. I can get a set from the states for about R700 shipped.
Knowing Nissan Parts its probably for one

Easiest place to get is off a stripped DE... does not need to be a turbo( just not a RR - roller rocker) I got mine off a DE head I bought secondhand on junkmail.
Other parts that also fit:
SR20de non roller rocker (high port or low port)
Rockers
Rocker guides
Rocker shims - Just PLEASE CHECK YOUR CLEARANCES ETC as they come in different thicknesses
and the sprayers...
DET has:
different exhaust valve stem seals - bigger due to bigger valves
different exhaust valves - thicker due to sodium filled
different heads
different valve covers - head and cover both longer due to exhaust sproket as cas drive/fitment

S14/S15 VCT motor - S14/S15 pump.
S13 red/black top (no VCT) - S13 Pump.
The head bolt holes are different on the GTiR and VE and DE (FWD) motors.
The VCT motor pump is already better than the S13 one so.... Check the thread with the SR spares and what fits what there...
