Little off topic.

But to anyone who’s Dad\Uncle did service in the armed forces you should recognise the below gun … This is the Airsoft version

Image

Now back to the car, I’m going to put my neck on the line and say the Aviner W10\W11 Manifold flows better if not the same as the GTI-R manifold.

Yes the GTI-R manifold will allow you to fit a larger frame turbo but the W10\W100 is a new design with a better internal flow then the GTI-R and less castings protruding into the exhaust flow

GTI-R at the Top, W10 at the bottom
---------------------------------------

Image

You can see the slightly turn flange on the GTI-R manifold

Well guys, I tried the old mechanic trick to clean the gunk from the head.

Didn't work to well

Before:

After:

Also I forgot VE Chain guides dont work on DE's without the correct bolts so my new guides wont fit

Here is a compare of the VE oil pump drive Vs the DE

Image

VE oil pump pick up Vs the DE

Image

GTI-R Pick-up doesn't even come close to fitting, So I will pull the VE pick-up off the other motor.

Well the motor is almost complete.

I need to still port the intake, The Turbo housing, Down-pipe.

OK we picked up a few issues this morning, The water pump failed and needed to be replaced.

The Stock SR20DET cams wont come out , We are unable to loosen the CAM sprocket bolts, So we are going to engine flush the motor till enough gunk is removed to do this.

Oil cooler plate doesn't fit so no oil cooler aswell

We got the oil leak issue sorted, Car fired up first time.

3 Inch Exhaust being fitted

Boost Controller and wide band, Yes I know shitty place for the wideband

First bottle of engine flush, one more to go and 20 liters of oil :)

Tunning will start tommorow

Testing out the sticker on the back window, Think I will remove them.

Fixed the air fuel ratio gauge

Image

Swap completed

Image

Still haven't switched on the boost controller.

Turbo is spooled at 3700 RPM, Cams come in at 4500 RPM, no traction from that point in first of second.

I can hear the turbo spooling down for 15 seconds after shutdown

Still got allot of tuning to do

Cams Have been Installed.

The fuel pressure regulator was replaced because it was knocked in causing weird issues with fuel pressure.

The boost controller was set to open the waste-gate at 0.7bar, Highest boost has been 0.8 bar.

Image

I need to create a CAI for the car , Heat soak is crazy

I have to say thank you to my buddy. Brenwin (Sokar) who help me with the swap from day one, Thanks for all the effort.
