Hi guys, my motor is a jap import engine from japan auto traders in jhb. And I only noticed today that it is an 8port by looking at the intake runners, however I don't see the vacuum actuator so I'm guessing the butterflies won't be working, I did some reading on the pros and cons of 8port but what are your guys opinions on the 8port? I would like to install a T28 and FMIC in the near future and push a nice amount of KW and still have it reliable but I see they say 4port is better for high flow and higher kw. Any thoughts to this? Thanks

4port is better for flow. 4port motor has oil cooler as well. I got a 8port head on my Sx and at a stock to mild tune I notice no difference. I think when you have a gt30 with massive injectors etc you will notice the better flow of the 4 port.
Does anyone have any numbers from a flow bench 4 vs 8 ports?

Hi Rat, are u still running the CA18DET? And are your 8port butterfliers still connected? I don't see the vaccuum actuator on my manifold so it must be gone, so what performance difference will it make if I get the butterflies working.

Heres a link i found on some usefull info of how to connect the butterfly system and how it was connected stock, however the problem is my electric solenoid i think was faulty when we were trying to sort out FPR issues so i just plugged it all up and connected FPR straight forward and that solenoid also creates the boost cut aswell which i dont want anyways.
