CA18DET upgrade question

Hi guys, when i have the cash i would like to give my CA18 some more power without breaking the motor or the bank, i dont want to spend money on engine itself because one day i would rather install SR20 S14, heres whats done to my engine already in terms of performance.

- BLITZ full alluminium racing radiator
- 76mm straight through with a single back box on the end
- cone filter
- Walbro Turbo intank feul pump
- boost cut disconnected
- OEM RB25 feul pressure regulator (could be same as CA18det?)
- Atmospheric BOV on cold side

The motor is also a low milage import that was only installed end of last year, its really healthy and compression was on spec last i checked, no burning oil or leaks.

So my next plan was T28 turbo and FMIC, would my stock injectors cope with a T28 at 0.6 - 0.7bar and what sort of power gains can i get, stock CA18det is 126kw and 220nm according to most sources, is this at the flywheel? and if bigger injectors are required would my stock management be able to run bigger injectors or would i then need nistune or something?

bigger injectors will need the ecu changed to nistune or diktosser

At what boost would i require bigger injectors though if CA18det has 370cc injectors

CA injectors run safe at 0.8 bar with a T28. I have run 1bar but thats maxxing injectors and dont recomend it.

The biggest thing with the T28 is the boost doest drop off at higher RPM. You would be making that much more power BUT your power band has grown from 1500RPM to 3000RPM. Trust me its a hell of a difference

I made 148RWKW 190FKW with the stock injectors and a T28 from a GTiR. FMIC, zorst, filter, walbro.

Now thats what i like to hear Rat :D, cool so i can start planning it for the near future, because turbo and intercooler with piping hopefully wont be too much to handle after some saving, but management and injectors and z32 AFM wouldve been out of my reach for a very long time, im not looking for crayze power, this SX must be practical and daily driveable but at the moment i feel the car just isnt fast enough and after 4000rpm theres not much, but 190fkw sounds good :D

Normally like this for the CA18DET

Stage 1 - Getting the motor the breathe
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Boost increase
FMIC (optional)

Stage 2 - Cheap mods to max stock system (maf/injectors)
Stage 1 complete
Uprated fuel pump (eg. Walbro or Bosch)
Uprated intercooler
T28 turbocharger
Suitable boost controller
