What should my oil pressure be like?

Hi guys, i recently installed some gauges and one of them was an AUTOGAUGE oil pressure unit, i know autoguage are the cheaper of the bramds but was better than nothing, but anyways when i start my car up the oil pressure is quite high with the oil cold its at around 5bar just idling, so i drove it around the block a few times to let it warm up and at idle it dropped to about 2.5bar, i see in the FSM it says to keep the car at 3000rpm under no load, which i did and it gave me a reading of 4.5bar.
What do you guys think? Im sure the gauge isnt 100% accurate but i dont want my oil pressure to be too high, im using shell helix ultra 10w40 and its on the max on the dipstick

Never really heard any issues being caused with oil pressure being too high and oil pressure is always high on cold start/idle.
Mine is always at 4.5 bar on idle on cold start, and previous cars of mine have had higher readings.
The most important is that it doesn't go too low.

Nothing to worry about, perfectly normal.

Dude seriously get a better oil pressure guage. There is no problem with your sensor but that guage is crappy. I had them in my car and honeslty threw them away. The pressures on my oil pressure was similar to what you say but when I fitted a decent guage it went to what the book says.
I am not knocking your setup but honestly them guages are dangerous. I fitted VDO guages which sorted the problem and was not much more expensive than the autocrap gauges. If you got the cash fit AEM or something but get rid of those you got.
Sorry, but the truth. I can guarantee that is why you are getting those pressures...

lol thanks phoenix, but il keep them for now, i made a gauge pod for my vents and got them for the mean time, i will upgrade in future but i dont think the autogauge is toooo bad, my car is stock and i hardly drive it hard, im a student so cant buy the high end stuff now. I will probably buy Autometer in the future when i have the funds. But first i want to do T28 and FMIC
