What kind of missfire is it? Sometimes people call things missfires that are actually wsomething else.
Does a cylinder or 2 breakdown as you load it from low rpm and then clear up?
Or does 1 or more of the cylinders die completly?
Or does the engine just cut out momemtarily?

i went through something similar, that i initially thought was coils, or the coil harness.
after going through every single damn problem that it could have been, it turned out to be CAS.
i'm not saying your problem will be your CAS, i'm saying that you should keep your hopes up because you will need them if this problem is going to take as long as i did to resolve mine!!!!

I had a similar problem whenever I changed my plugs from 6 - 7. Everytime I would pull the plugs and they would FULL of carbon, so after many hours of leaning the mixtures, test driving and pulling plugs it has almost stopped. The car was just far too rich. I have just order my Zeitronix wideband and see where the mixtures are, will make it alot easier as I wont have to continuously pull the plugs and check.
Maybe this could be your problem?!

Do this.
Number the coils. Swap no 4 to no 1 take the plugs out look carefully at the condition if they look fine swop no 2 and no 4.
Now see which cyl the missfire has moved to if its still at no 4 then its not the coil or the plug. Go to step 2
2:Then swop no 4 injector to no 1 and see if the missfire moves if it doesnt then have a real good look at your wiring and possibly the Coil driver.
You should isolate it in 30mins if you do the above.

listen to the words of wisdom!!! this plan would have saved me plenty of time, but i had other ideas. i decided to go after the electrical system!!!
anyway - this would probably take me about 30 hours - not minutes!!! but then again, i like to undo a few nuts and bolts, then talk kaka, then undo some more then have a beer, then redo some nuts and bolts and talk more kaka while having more beer.
it would be a veritable party of mechanics in my garage over the weekend if calibrators plan had to happen!!!
