Just Serviced

Hey I serviced my car this week. Changed the oil & oil filter. Cleaned out Cone filter, but across two interesting things.
Oil Filter. This was the first time ever that I fitted a Gud filter into my SX. I always by the original one from Nissan. The first thing I noticed is that the original one is a cooler colour  , but the quaility of the Nissan brand is better. The sealing rubber looks more tolerant & the filter holes are not as neat as the Nissan one.
So I'm going to spend the extra R40.00 I put the Nissan one instead. This I advise everybody to do.

Also. i have a cone filter & at the last event I was telling Toby that as soon as the car gets to operating temperature the idle goes funny. I pulled the air filter out & saw that the AFM was filled with gunk :? . I pulled the AFM & cleaned it out. (Watch the two little wires..very sensitive) Once everything wa back & driving from Buccleuch to randburg, I noticed the car didn't idle funny anymore. :D (yeah).

The oil used is Mobile one as I got a good price for it.

You can get the Filter from any nissan. & yes you can say 200sx, but the 1.8 litre.
I never had a problem, they always had it.

Sorry about not doing it at your place, but maybe we an schedule it this weekend.

Using carb cleaner is good & metholated spirits as well. Anything that will degrease it without leaving a residue will work.
mine was badly gunked up.

Well the reason I want help is 'cos I took the AFM off the other day and looked in but can't see these wires you guys talk about. I have carb cleaner so I could just spray it into the little hole at the bottom of the AFM? Is that right?

Can't do this weekend WooHaa - I'm taking my SX to a security shop to have a new alarm system fitted. This one doesn't unlock the doors when you switch off, which means it will work nicely with a turbo timer

That's cool.
The place you are spraying the carb cleaner is correct, but it is better to remove the black thingy on that AFM. Once you take out the black box thingy, you will see the two wires.

I payed R266.00 for 4 litres. Any autozone stocks the oil & certain engen garages.

The oil is awesome. I'm using the oil now, because of the 0w viscosity level. As my car runs alot cooler, I need a very thin oil on start up, & everyday use.
