What a day! So many awesome cars at the track yesterday.

I havnt seen a turnout like that in ages.

Track temp was sky high! 47 deg! Crazy!

Took the S2K out on the first session, struggled to get a open track infront of me. Eventually got some flying laps in.

This time I noticed my brakes cannot handle the track anymore, my pads are way too thin. Needed to engine brake the car rather hard to brake as late as I did the previous trackday.

This caused some issue, cause that style of driving combined with the heat.....cause some breather problems on the honda.

Coming through turn for on lap 8-9 I think..........loads of smoke fromthe exhaust! My heart almost stopped!

Coasted around the track, into the pits. Listened to the motor. All sounded perfect, no smoke on idle. Tiny amount of smoke of reving the car. After a few minutes it was all gone again. I let the car cool down and took it for a drive. No problems.

Second session I take it very easy, short shifting at 7000rpm and the motor seems not to breath at all then. Last to laps I push it again.....smokes again.....

So the conclusion, I need a oil catch tank

End of the day I ran consistent times of 1:40.5 on average, best time being a 1:40 flat.

I was a bit dissapointed with this time, however. For a car with road tires, almost finished brakes it wasnt too bad. Pretty on par with the other cars there that was in the league of the S2K. My goal is still 1:30 on stock motor.

Mods before I do another track day:
Catch (breather) tank
EBC yellow stuff pads all around
Oil cooler
Semi slicks

I will probably do all of the mods above except the semi and see how the times are then. Then I will put the semi on.

End of the day I had loads of fun! And I have a base time for the Honda! :P

Yeah, I was out at Kirstenbosch and nearly died, I'd hate to see what it did to cars.
Just went to see Wynand now loading up his broken Evo.

It was a Awesome! day at the track. I did not expect so many people. Track days seems to become more popular. Its a good thing. Can't wait for the next one.

The blueish S14 with the huge white wheels sounded like a Monster. It was a surprise to see an SX coming out off the garage on the corner since those guys usually drive BMW's. I happened to see some side ways action from someone driving a grey S13 also. They were having good fun.

That s14 which is green is absolutely mental! It kills that turbo charged ariel atom. He is also building a supra, good client of mine. He is running my old navan spoiler on the s14
