hey guys im plannig to install a electronic boost controller into a ca18det i was told the max boost that i can run on stock pistons is 1.2bar but then today i was told that above 0.9 my engine will be running to lean and this would cause serious problems for me does anyone have advise for me. im going to keep it on 0.6 bar and then when i want to give it i will boost it up but this is my day to day car so i dont want to bugger it up

Hey budi 0.8 max or you will mess up your engine possibly blow the turbo, if every thing stock as you said your injector's will not beable to keep up and detonation will occur

if i want to boost higher than 0.8 wat would i need to do

Management and W/M or race fuel. Dont think a stock headgasket will take much more then 1.2 so you looking at building the motor.

Upgrade,fuel pump walbro,turbo,water meth,management is the back bone of power upgrade,intercooler,gascet,dv,fpr, intectors, then you can boost 1.5bar on stock internals keep in mind this aint cheap if it your every day car, but car will pull dam strong.

whats water meth system

ok thanks thats pretty kwl gt another question with the water meth system how often will you need to top it up?? everytime you fill your petrol tank or does it last longer than that? and where do you find the water meth mix. water meth dnt sound cheap

Its R100 for a 5L of water meth mix,remeber the mix must be 50water/50meth by weight not by volume.well that all depends on you if you going to push your car into boost all the time your water meth will not last too long but if you boost now and then it will last relatively long depends on when you set the water meth to kick in.
