So all know by now that i might have a bearing knock, and that the Turbo on my car is packing up(Screams like a banshee, and only starts boosting(OKAY puffing..)) from 5000rpm. Well yesterday I ripped some of the plumbing out turbo side as I saw allot of oil in the boost pipes, and lo and behold, my dearist turbo has not got any play on it, oooo no, it travels…From here to cairo, I am talking of almost a centimetre or more of play on the shaft….

Now the car is going in tomorrow for the rebuilt, and I was wondering, could the noise witch I think is bearings(witch only starts from about 3000rpm, underload, and one can hear at 2000rpm, when u do not load the moter(IE, I rev to about 2400rpm, and slightly raise my foot of the throttle)) actualy come from the turbo itself?????

Or am I thinking like a year old hippie on some realy good sh!t???

my cash is on the bearings
i had the same simptoms foot lat had no noise lift foot to cruize(of load)
grrrrrrrrrrrr foot down silent
mine did it at 4500 rpm then with time went lower and lower to 2000rpm
then i pulled the motor

replace them befor your crank gets bad

what happen to me was the turbo and bearing knock happend in the same time!!! if tubro only start to boost at 5k rpm... there is a big problem

No need to worry anymore, we bussy rebuilding the whole motor...
