Ok, so ive been thinking, i want to start getting my car sorted for odd open track day, and was wondering what would be the most important parts to do first and then in what order?

-BRAKES: (off a later model S13 SX), mine arnt bad but not good either.
-RADIATOR: (standard) the gauge runs in the middle no more even on hot days in traffic, so its not bad
-SHOCKS: Has a set of KYB shocks and K&N springs, handles good to me
-ROSE JOINTS: Currently on the stock bushes etc.
-ROLL CAGE: Dont have but its a good safety tool
-SEATS: (stock)

Thats all i can think of for now, please feel free to post suggestions...

For the occasional track use I would suggest upgrading most of those at the same time as they work hand in hand.

Brakes and handeling would probably be the most important.

However, you have to make sure that you motor is safe for track use, so your cooling is very very important to.

Rolecage, rosejoints and a seat you can look at later when you have the rest sorted.

Also, replacing your bushes with rosejoints you are letting yourself in for allot work if you drive your car everyday. Its allot of constant maintenance and ensuring that they are lubed and dont seiz up. Its also a very hard ride once you have done that mod.

But you are thinking of all of the right mods so you are on the right track...

cool thanks, as for the rose joints, its a weekend car so not used to often and the ride stifnes isnt a problem as long as she handles

hey buddy

my advise is if you just wana do the odd track day here and there and enjoy the car more than being competitive just make sure that everything is up to stracth bcuz when you on the track after your second hot lap you will very quickly wat isn't in top nick...

then if you want to slowly get more more involved you can play with tire pressure using water wetter to run cooler....

i'v been in motor racing for 5 years now and everyone want's a fully equipt track car and now they going to show them how to do it.... it's not like that in real term's learning your car and how it handle's to the tee is the most important and start with the little set-up procedures first like tire pressure and so on camber lightening the car..

for example i have a friend whom i started racing with in the beginning whom drives a scooby (stock) now he's raced in afew porsche's and single seaters and is 1s off my other mate who has the same scooby but full bc coilovers, slick's 50kw's more than him around the Z

And here it begins !

What about S14/Z32 brakes instead of the later S13 ones? It bolts on and then you have 4-piston calipers instead of 1 and the discs are 30mm thick instead of 22mm so more heat absorption capabilities. Both are 280mm OD.

im going to get proper brakes for street/track, wilwood, brembo etc. 6pot

Grant, brake`s are first priority . Everything else can be moderated by yourself but enthusiasm at the track demands the best in brakes first and utmost.

Yep and with the brakes im going BIG, no price on safety!!!
