I was running 215/40/17 on standard suspension, & everything was good so far.
I think a few guys are running 225's in the back.

Lower the suspension, it will automatically make the wheels seem wider, of the lower stance....It's an optical illusion.

By the way, wlecome to da club....tell us a little more about you & dat car.

was my fathers car. its a 1992 methinks. everything is standard, so far i just covered the original seats, gear lever and steering wheel in black leather... now i'm looking for a new boot-spoiler and good set of wheels. after about 14 years of my dads abuse the car feels a little loose and has a couples of rattles, i think my girl could do with a diet or at least some tightening up here and there. the suspention is still standard thinking of upgrading that too, its beginning to feel a little bit bouncier than i remeber... and that leaves the engine, not sure what i wanna do or what is recommended for a 1992 S13 200SX. the performance of it standard is quite pleasing for the moment though... what do you guys think?

There is a ton of stuff you could do to this car.
depends what you are going for, speed, handling, drift, drag, track, or all in one.

I personally just want to enhance the car by giving it a bit of personal touch that suits my taste. A little more reliable power. Lower stance & slightly stiffer suspension.
Rims. & some gauges inside. :P
My idea is to do things as if Nissan put them there in the first place. I don't like it, when something stands out like a sore thumb. :?

Like Chemcool said. I just wanna be better then 80% of the cars on the road.

Um..... but I am!

Performance...unichip, bigger fuel pump, 63 or 76mm exaust 1 box, FMI, button clutch, that should give you a nice gain from standerd...

Stiffer suspension.....inject some viagra into your shocks works a charm ask woohaa, he even smokes that shit.

To answer the first part of your question.
Yes parts are rare, but an exhaust system, can be done by most guys. Wildcat, viper etc.
Fuel pumps, eletric fans, clutches & gearbox & differentials, are also available from third party company's. Big Boss auto for example.
Engine & computer box stuff I would suggest The Calibrator....come to think of it, ask him for anything, if he can't do it I'm sure he'll point you in the right direction.
Still make no doubt, finding spares can be tough & Nissan as a dealership, know fark-all about these cars. Never take it there, even for a service.

The second part of the question, but who does the work....Well buddy my best advice is to pick up a workshop manual, make some good friends here on the forum's, because nobody else that I know can actually work on this car. (Calibrator excluded....He's really proved his worth to me on this forum...Even if he is a bit of a hard-ass...jokes buddy :)

SO......you know where to download the workshop manual? There is a link on this website. If you want a copy on CD,let me know & I will burn one for you.
That workshop manual is the best seller on this forum, & all the free advice from the rest of the guys here are priceless, so take notes.

i dont know about that. his name is jinx after all. maybe all 200sx owners should stay away from a dude named "jinx".

oh shit - i think murphy heard me!!!

run, run, RUUUUNNN!!!!!!

hehehehe.

cut your springs with an angle grinder, then get 245's on the back, and 225's on the front, then install polyurethane bushes, and aluminium ones for the steering and the rear subframe.

then you will have a point and steer go-kart like mine!

it also goes sideways sometimes, and spins out easily!

thanx woohaa.
if you could burn me a copy of the workshop manual that would be much appreciated!!
but first things first... i need wheels and a boot spoiler(the original rusted off thanx to m'dad), cause my bird is looking a little under-dressed. i reckon i'll go for 225/40 R17 for the shoes.
and a boot spoiler.. now that brings a good question, are they acually funtional on the 200sx or just for glam and where would you guys recomend i go?
one more thing, whats the verdics of Koni shocks and springs and by how much should i lower it if at all?
p.s. please excuse my incompetence with regards to the more intense technicalities of cars, i'm still rather new to it but more than willing to learn
i love my car!
