Quote" This engine is a destroked SR20VE(for those who don't know.. that's an SR20 with a type of Variable Valve Lift system). This is a lot like Honda's VTEC technology. It has 3 different cam profiles that is uses throughout the RPM range to give you low end TQ and fuel economy, midrange TQ/HP, and then it switches to a crazy top end profile that gives you maximum HP. This particular engine (SR16VE N1) makes 197hp and around 136ft. lbs of Tq. Now, if you take an SR20DE crankshaft, rods, and pistons.. and put them in the SR16 block, you get an SR20VE N1 basically.. with awesome camshaft profiles! This should be able to let me make around 215-220hp with the otherwise stock engine. "

It has 3 different cam profiles
Sorry just correcting some stuff,2 Different Profiles but independent switching on the first series of both intake and exhaust cams
Now, if you take an SR20DE crankshaft, rods, and pistons
SR20DE piston will drop the comp, skim the N1 Pistons.
with awesome camshaft profiles! This should be able to let me make around 215-220hp with the otherwise stock engine. "
maybe at the coast not on the reef more like 190HP - 200HP.

Yep as n1smo200sx posted it has been done and is comming more common.
Mazworx is the most famous and sells kits to do the swap over onto a SR20DET Block.
