Dash lights dont work

Ok im having a problem where my dashboard lights dont come on. I think its the switch on the lightstalk actually. If i switch it on and off a couple thousand times it may come on, other days it works fine.
The real problem is when the dash lights dont come on neither do the rear lights
Any ideas how to fix, afraid of breaking the stalk if i take it apart.

Does the interior light work?? Normally these two run on the same circuit and through the same fuse.

neva tried switching the interior light on while the dash lights didnt want to go on
but i doubt its the fuse as its more of an intermittent problem

I have seen it when the fuse melts and the wire inside only touches sometimes, so it can be intermittent.

mine was doing the same thing, but it turned out to be the alternator fuse. the 40amp jobbie. was intermittent cos some knob decided not to pay for a new one, but rather just do the worst soldering between the fuse points.
eventually came loose and caused intermittent problem!!!

but obviously a lot less like a tank and lot more like an s13!!!

Ummm ja most guys get some decent front/back/side shots and use Photoshop to get some trace lines out, then just clean up the pic...

umm ja, if we take this back to its original post, we can see that i found something.
but the photoshop idea might work too.
i've got plenty of decent shots of the sx thanks to most guys here!!!
