Old faithfull!

Post by Draco »

I miss her sometimes, I spent all my free time on her, she was still in progress then I got the sx and she perished, man I was stupid to sell her, at least I still have all the equipment.
At normal playing volume(set loud) she cranked out an average of 142dB's, if I set her up for spl she did a 144.7, if I really wanted to compete I installed my spl box and did a 152.5 dB's. She was not finished but I kicked ass with her, on all the shows I attended I only twice lost out on a 1st,2nd or 3rd, in 2002 I was the 8th loudest vehicle in my class in South Africa in the dB Drag format.

Same, I gave my Opel Kadett to my brother when I got the sx. I also miss the sound, it played at 150.9db and in SPL it was at 156.4db. Also won loudest in its class. It was/is on the audiopipe website as a feature car.

Oh ja it had 2 15" DVC 2000w RMS speakers run by a 2000rms x 4 mosfet amp  .

Also did SPL for some time, my cars looked good and played good as well which in SPL you normally can't get, it either looks good have shitty SPL or looks kak but has great SPL has box formats/vinal has a impact on the SPL... 144.2 was my highest 2x10" Boshmann subs, in a Renault Cleo.

We then went on to build the 4x10" Sub Corsa that won a few events, just shy of 150db - soon after we left it was too much of a hassle converting the car to SPL for every event. But we only did IASCA

Sorry if i offended someone, I posted this because I have proud memories of accomplishing all that on my own, in my day of competing that numbers was good, I am still proud to say that was 1 of the loudest dayly driver cars build by 1 unproffesional guy.
