Getting Voortrekker legal!

Well guy's since I live a couple of block's away from Voortrekker rd in PTA I am used to the Sunday night line ups and the usual crowd that go's along with the racing. I have been there a couple of times as both a spectator and a driver and know it's good fun.
As you know this is illegal and there has been a fair amount of accidents. My question is this. Why not get this racing legal and organized? I mean I have not been to one race coarse that see's consistently as much people as the people that show up there every week.
I know the road can be blocked off and diverted since I drive the back roads every day and in the event of an accident I have seen the metro close it. Hell if they can block off Sandton city on a Saturday I am sure this will be a breeze. I was thinking of getting sponsors behind this idea and getting it safer... The racing will never stop there legal or illegal.... it can at least be done safe.
Thoughts on this?

Excellent idea, dont see how it wont work, but its going to be expensive to organize that every Sunday, Then you will need to have an entrance fee, they want to dice for free.
So in my mind, they will just do it else where.
I think why its so fun, is because of that little rebel inside all of us, and the Idea that you can get caught! and the freedom of dicing anyone there, with no rules. I think thats your biggest hurdle, to not break the atmosphere. thats what is special at Voortrekker.

cannot say i have not done my fair share of diceing down that road, ever since the days i turbo'd my first car, a ford escourt XR3.. good times.
but i think this is an idea thats dead in the water, you will never get it past ttswane metro/motorsport SA. simple fact.
racing in voortrekker will always be of the illeagle kind, sad to say..

not worth it in my opinion.. since its about the most known streetracing road in pta, its lousy with metro cops most of the time, with suprise roadblocks on sundays. i dont even drive it anymore on sundays, nevermind watch the racing, in fact have not been in years..

That is why ODI was reopened....for the voortrekker crowd to race legally....only problem is....it's to far from voortrekker and you need MSA licence....so the origenal adie went down the toilet....

I read awhile ago must have been 2years
They had an organised event on the street and it all went wrong when a driver hit a tree....
To my belief they stopped street events after that...
