As far as my memory serves it is a 4" a little modification on the mold then you can fit a 5 1/4" speaker.

I tried to pull the door pad off and have a look but wasnt sure on how to take out the electric window panel. But I did get a brief look from under the door pad and they looked like 6".

If yours is a 6" someone already removed the mold and made mod to make a 6" fit.

The electric window panel has a screw in the small bucket, there is a small squere cap you need to take out with a screwdriver to get to the screw.

ive done mine - they are the oblong shape ones - the size smaller than 6X9... but i've read a lot that it is easy to put 6X9 in there

here we go : Front Door : 4x6"

You can put almost any size speaker in there up to 6 1/2" and maybe the smaller tipe 6x9" with some mods obviosly, depending on what you want to accomplish.

I am 1 day going to install my sound again, emagine about R15000 rands sound laying in my closet collecting dust, as for my subs I will only install 1x 15", i'll keep the second 1 for backup.

Yip had a look last night and they 4"x 6" shitty little things. I dont want to go 4", that would suck, and I dont want to do any major mods to fit 6.5" or even 6"x 9".

What speakers do you guys have in your front doors?? Has any done the mod to fit another size speaker in there??

yip 4x6 like window said...

mine is removed, gonna put some 4" splits in, also custom mold that I would need to build... soon

4" splits just dont pack the punch. I wanted 6" co axil or something. 6x9s would be cool.

Any idea if you could mod it to fit 5.25" in??

:!: oh and Gary - one thing to watch out for is - don't use a screwdriver to try and lift the door grabhandles up and out - they are brittle and thin around the edges - they break easily

like drukkie said - there is a little flap at the bottom of the handle which hides a screw... other than that i cant remember it being hellishly difficult

Ja I managed to get the door pad quite fine. Its now just to fine speakers. Do you think companies like sony etc make 4x6" speakers??

might be, but its not worth the money IMO - dont expect much "outch my ears are bleeding"

i could just find some hifi-corp Jensen speakers at the time i was fiddling there, but i put my old, dusty and pap clarions back quick as a flash. i thought the jencrap would be better as they were rated at much higher power, but now there are brand new jencrap speakers sitting in a box in my garage.

rather go the decent route and get 6x9 once and for all - buy once, cut once, fit once (measure twice though)
