Project - STD

Post by Kings »

STD = Street Drift :D ( Because street drifting is WAY more fun )

I have been into drifting for quite some time now, but have never had the right car to start.. It took me a couple of months to realise through rally driving, that drifting is what i really want to do. So i started my re-search and decided that the 200sx will be my first choice of car ( to this day i would never look back ) I managed to find a guy up in JHB who was willing to swap my 1.6 Opel Astra for his 200SX ( stock standard ), so i did the deal right there and then. The Car had a few oil leaks and some seals needed replacing, but besides that all was good.. It got me back to Durban, so i was a happy chappy

Anyways here is how the car is coming along :

Removed the carpet from the door, looks alot better :

Tinted the rear lights + Windows

Carbon Pedals ( Al Cheapo :))

I also ordered 1X Walbro 255lph internal fuel pump, this is what i got :

I wasn't complaining.

Thanks to Poizon for helping me install the new fuel tank and pump, i wish i had taken a pic of what the last one looked like, shocking

My manifold started to leak so thought it was time to get myself a topmount, and what a good idea that was.. Thanks Charlvdw
Befor top-mount:

A Garret t25g turbo ( thanks again to poizon )

Then i had some free time over the weekend, so i gave my car a basic service, and a touch of colour, hope you like..

Then lastly the engine needed a fresh coat of paint:

And that is all i have done for now, that i can think of.. I still have a a long way to go until i can make the ultimate street drift car, but that involves cash which i dont have alot of hahahaha.
So please feel free to give your 2c whenever you may feel like, i am always open to new ideas..

The quality is pretty good hey, has a very smooth finish. i could have made it a bit darker, but im happy how it came out.

How is it running with those plugs. I have always been told that the 3 prong plugs are a waste on time on a turbo car.

I would stay away from edge as well. slx best castrol oil we get.

Yeah, Poizon said the same thing to me about the plugs, but the car seems to be running fine. With the oil i just figured any oil would be better than the oil i previously had in :) i browsed through some topics on forums but every one has there own opinions on oils, so it was hard to choose.. Wanted softec but they never had.. What oil you using??
