CA18DET Engine and Gearbox Modifications done to engine: Ported and flowed Cylinder head, ACL bearings, Forged pistons, balanced crank, 550cc injectors, T3/T4 hybrid turbo with exhaust branch and external wastegate, copper button clutch, custom intake manifold, Fuel pressure regulator. (needs new piston rings) Engine makes 400hp on 1. 5bar boost. Call George @ 0834435964

400hp = ~294kw and there's no reason a 550cc cant deliver 100hp.

Sorry, my mistake, 294kw. Still dont see it on a 4 cyl with 550 injs

at 100% duty cycle, on 550cc , 4 cyl, BSFC of 0.6 the max is 350hp(257kw)

But if the guy says 400hp with 550cc injs, maybe he runs 5 bar feul presure.......... who am i to question it

That engine never made 300hp let alone 400hp so the point is moot.
Neither does it have forged pistons nor ACL bearings.

For what it is though its a good price.

It is georges motor....so Daniel...if it does not have forgies and so on...I can understand why it broke with the T61.

That "T61" is physically smaller than my S14 T28

I can't comment about that, he may have been misled by a unscrupulous engine builder.

I saw him driving around the other day, the engine was smoking but it looked like it was over fueling rather than blown rings.

regardless, a "working" engine and gearbox for 5k...well worth considering

i have see a S15 with stock SR20det making 398hp... with bolt-ons and engine untouched....550cc is possible to make 400hp...coz stock S15 injector are 480cc

398hp(292kw) on 4 x 480cc inj's.

That is .207 hp per cc.
That means i can get 337kw(460hp) on std 6 X 370cc inj's in a RB25DET

Dont think so.
