Hi, I'm replacing my Sr20det clutch with a stage 2 clutch, while I'm at it, I can replace the flywheel with a lightweight chromolly flywheel, is this a good option? or better to keep the heavy stock?
What are the positive and negative points in doing this mod?

Im curently running a Fidanza light weight flywheel,
but in my opinion it is one big waste of money

.
They say a light weight flywheel helps with acceleration, but i cant feel the difference.
You loose a big chunk of Torq low down with the lighter weight, it becomes very tardy, lazy of the line
Next time im changing clutch etc, im putting the std flywheel back

.
any other oppinions

cool, then I'll rather stick with the standard
How did it effect you aep886?
Don't you mess up the ballance of the motor when you make the one end lighter?

My crank with light flywheel and front pully was all balanced together, during rebuild

.

if
bigger turbo for example t3/t4 and light weight flywheel a big NO NO

The bigger turbo, takes a bit longer to spool up, so lowdown no power, because of no boost yet, and now you add a lighter flywheel, it diminishes the torq even more lowdown !!.
Currently im running a t3/t4 tubonetics ballbearing turbo, making 265rwkw at 1.2 bar boost, so it surely fly, but up to 3500rpm, the torq of a std s14 sr20det, is way supperior, im only making 203nm(at 3500rpm), a std one makes about 200nm already at 2300rpm !!.
And im not using the variable valve timing anymore, 264 degree cams.
But then again, maybe it is my compression 8.2:1
