Since i did the rebuild on my sx and changed to the 8 port head the lifters have always been noisy.
Now they are going worse quickly, can i do damage to the car by driving it?
What are my options ?

First thing I'd say is strip, clean and rebuild/bleed them.
Then you can see how many are buggered, etc.

did you bleed the lifter before insert them?
or try to use thicker engine oil

I didnt build the head so dont know. been noisy since 2008 running the same oil, they get slighty better with thicker oil. just worrying me that they really noisy even from cold when the oil is thick they never just to be. Could there be an oil problem?

Don't just put thicker oil in, it only works for a short time and it such a cowboy way of doing things....I don't mean to step on anyones toes but it's no good, especially on a turbo charged engine.
Pull them out and bleed them properly or replace them. The head dissambley is easy enough and just replace the hydraulic lifters with new ones that have been bled properly

The problem is where to get them if mine are stuffed. Thinking about maybe buying another head and going back to 4 port.
Anyone got that link on bleeding lifters?

To answer your question I find it very easy, just takes some time.
I added a link under the technical stickies a long time ago - that has pics and everything you need info wise.

Hi Rat, sorry to hijack but do you or anyone else knows if the 200sx and 300zx lifters are the same? I think it was the RB25 that had the same lifters as the CA18....not sure. Anyone?

Hi, just googled and a supplier of lifters in japan sell lifters and claim they fit the CA18, 300zx (z32),RB20/25. I will check this weekend as I have a few 300 lifters.
