those typical fong kong manual boost controllers, how do you install them.

i've installed one, and i dont think its behaving properly!!! it didn't come with instructions bar two stickers with arrows saying "towards wastegate actuator"!!!

i know they are not the best, but i figured it would work a little bit. but mine makes some strange noises when bleeding off boost (like small fluffy animals being torn up in the turbo) and it spikes and then drops off heavily.

i think i may have installed it incorrectly - or its the biggest load of junk out there!!!

Could someone explain how this works how can it actually turn your boost up, seeing as you cut the tube in half add the controller thingie , Logically I can understand how this can turn it down by restricting the flow, thus having the straight tube means full boost or is it actually by restricting the pipe does it turn this up. I'm all confused now.

It increases boost by bleeding some of the air used to push the waste gate open.

aaahhh that makes sense , so by taking that pipe off the wastegate wont open and you will go out with a boom

You got it right!

Interestingly enough, the Manual boost controller cant make your boost lower than stock.

Have you ever driven when your actuator pipe has fallen off, the stock turbo can do 1.2 bar quick quick :P

I have an electronic boost controller, controled by the wolf. The things works great but it makes this ticking noise the whole time, very irratating especially when the car is off and the key is on.

here's the kicker...

mine is stupid copy of the real thing. was cheap.

and i reckon its leaking!!!

my boost goes to 0.7 much quicker, but also drops off much quicker. so after about 5000rpm it drops from 0.7 to 0.5 before 6000 rpm.

its almost like the needle slowly bounces off the 0.7 mark!!!

reckon its leaking???

oh sorry - forgot to say very many thanks to sokar for the link. thats how i installed it. common sense really!

It could be leaking, put a compressor on the one end and check.
