what filters do u guys use nd how do u find them pls

simota cone filter, works fine.

k&n is also a good option if you keepin the standard air box

can get get a good cone filter anywhere really

A 500mile test of all the filter brands out there revealed that:

1. BMC / K&N is the only filter you should use
2. Foam filters are crap - not only do they not filter well but are not any better for performance
3. buying the good filter is the good choice to make.

Honestly I would NEVER fit ANYTHING but K&N or BMC. If you value your engine - buy a quality filter.
Also do not fool yourself - a cone filter in the engine bay not shielded from the heat of the surrounds and not fed cold air from an area away from the heat is WORSE than the standard airbox with a STANDARD filter. A replacement filter from K&N or BMC is even better. Also make sure that if you are running a standard airflow meter to have at least 100mm of pipe run between the filter and the sensor to not confuse the sensor with turbulent air.

My 2c and advise. Take it or leave it

fully agree with you, people spend $$$$ on the engine and go and buy a cheap filter, you can add a apexi to your list to as per Tobie and Andre

Another very good filter is the Apexi Dual funnel power intake kit.

It is not cheap but it gives the bes filtration to power gains

hehe, a subject that always makes me smile this..

want the best filtration there is?
use oem paper filter + oem designed airbox..

want a bit less power and more induction noise?
use a under bonnet conefilter

want a (debatable!) bit more power at the cost of less filtration?
use a cold air induction kit with the least shitty cone filter you can find

all of this said, my sx also uses a k&n filter of the huge variety, which brings us to the only real reason a cone filter should be used for in my humble opinion :

when you have no choice, because the original airbox or bigger cannot be refitted due to space constraints..

+1 on what 300SX said. Buy a K&N replacement. alternatively buy a apexi and stick it in a cool place

the best is to get a ARC aluminium super induction box ... sucking air at a rate of 15.3 cubic feet per minute compare to stock flows 12.6cfm

The ARC looks good and works well on stock turbo plumbing.
